ASHRAE® - Spacecoast Chapter
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Main Program:
The Economics and Feasibility of Living "Off-the-Grid"

About The Program:

Two of our most distinguished members will present their “hands-on” experience and research updates on the availability of solar power, wind power, and “off-the-grid” heating sources for homeowners.

Spacecoast ASHRAE Distinguished Member, Kevin P. Riley, PE, CEM, will present his personal experience of providing a unique heating source for his vacation cabin in South Carolina.  He has designed and installed an alternative fuel source heating system.

Spacecoast ASHRAE President-Elect, David K. Poetker, PE has been researching the available products and the economic feasibility of the solar and wind power options to the homeowner in Florida for a project currently under design.  “Off-the-Grid” living is the dream of many homeowners, but only a few actually reach this level of energy independence.  His presentation will include the current Federal and Florida state tax incentives available to the homeowner.
